Where I started from
I was born and raised in Italy, in a city near Venice. My Academic journey began with Cognitive Psychology at the University of Padova, specialising in Neuropsychology and Cognitive Rehabilitation. During these years, I became fascinated by Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and its intersection with health and neuroscience. Willing to explore this discipline further, I worked on two European projects, spending one year at Helsinki University and one year at the Human Inspired Technology Research Centre in Padova.
Afterward, I also completed my clinical training at the Heart Surgery Department (University Hospital of Padova) and acquired my certification to practice as a Psychologist.
My journey to digital health
Research called me once again, and I started my M.Res. + Ph.D. at University College London, exploring the design and adoption of AI decision support systems in the care of Alzheimer's Disease patients. I collaborated with Icometrix, an imaging AI company in Belgium, and with many research groups around Europe. I had the opportunity to present my work at National and International conferences and to publish in peer-reviewed Journals.
My interest in digital health grew exponentially after linking to the One HealthTech community as a volunteer and I started to understand more about all the applications of HCI to this field.
Where I currently am
After the PhD, I landed my first industry job as an intern at Ctrl-Group and then as a Clinical UX Researcher.
I started working for my current job at Medtronic - Digital Technologies in 2021, where I am currently working on developing scenario-based training in VR, constantly learning and growing by collaborating with a brilliant multidisciplinary team.
Besides this, I mentor professionals and researchers looking to progress in their careers or understand their options. Most of my remaining time you will find me running, reading, or writing up my insights.
